Japandi overtakes Los Angeles

Scandinavia meets Japan in LA

Aarhus, Denmark

We are blessed the founder of Alloi was able to live in Scandinavia, spending several months studying architecture in Aarhus, Denmark.  Ever since the start of Alloi our team has introduced Scandinavian design into our work both in local Los Angeles and across the Unites States.  The clean minimalist and logical use of simple warm materials lends a sense of style and harmony to interior design.

Japan is known for a history of master carpentry, craft and a code of ethics un-matched in the world.  Their monochromatic design is both forward thinking and timeless with an approach to taming a restless mind by way of visual neutrality.  Efficient use of space and maximizing volume by way of reflecting daylight are all part of the masterful aspects of their culture.

Loft House

The interior design in our Loft House project in Los Angeles’ Baldwin hills displays a mix of both Japanese and Scandinavia design which has been coined as  “Japandi.”  The blend of simple timeless form can be seen in the custom built in rift White Oak couch and cabinetry in the sunken living room.
